The AHA is deeply saddened by the death of Emeritus Professor Bruce Mansfield AM and offers condolences to his family. Influential in both Australian history and Early Modern European history, Bruce Mansfield held the first history chair at Macquarie University from 1965 and served as Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of that university from 1976 to 1985. He then served as Deputy Chancellor at Charles Sturt University and was a visiting professor at the University of Sydney. He was also closely involved with the Journal of Religious History, which he edited from 1959 to 1987. His funeral will be held this Friday 15 September at 11.30am at Pymble Uniting Church, Pacific Hwy, Pymble NSW.
