Honest History

New on the website of AHA affiliates Honest History this week (2 May 207): a comparison between state-directed commemoration in Australia, Russia and Israel (particularly relevant in the wake of the Yassmin Abdel-Magied fuss); a reminder of where the words ‘Lest We Forget’ originated; reviews of a DVD on Australia in Afghanistan, a biography of an ‘aviatrix’, and two exhibitions at the National Archives on Indigenous service in uniform; an imperial visitor to Brisbane, 1901; some apposite Whizzbangs; the publication of The Honest History Book (with chapters from a number of AHA members).
