Congratulations to those shortlisted for the 2018 Ashurst Business Literature Prize, including AHA member Eleanor Robin for Swanston Merchant Statesman (Australian Scholarly Publishing, 2018). This book brings to life the early Australian capitalist, Captain Charles Swanston (1789-1850) ‒ gallant soldier, legislator, financier, merchant, civic leader and family man ‒ and examines his intellectual and social contribution against the commercial mores of the time.
The award was established by law firm Ashurst and the SL of NSW to encourage the highest possible standards of literary commentary on business and financial affairs written by an Australian author.
