A very successful festschrift to celebrate the inspiring career of Professor Marilyn Lake was held at the University of Melbourne in December 2016. Marilyn has been an active and influential member of the AHA for many years, and was President between 2010 and 2014. Her research and publications in women’s and gender history, race, democracy, nation building and transnationalism, to mention just some of the areas she has addressed, have provided crucial new ways of approaching history.
