This event will build on the inaugural ‘Rethinking and Researching 20th Century Aboriginal Exemption’ symposium held in 2018. The 2020 symposium will again bring together community members, academics and interested parties to advance understanding of the impact of, and resistance to, this government regulation in Indigenous Australian lives. Indigenous and non-Indigenous keynote speakers and invited panellists will share their experiences and research during the symposium, including at a symposium dinner. Culturally appropriate activities will include yarning circles and panels dedicated to the sharing of life experiences.
