Patricia Grimshaw, AO

Warm congratulations to longtime AHA member Professor Patricia Grimshaw, whose ‘distinguished service to the social sciences and to the humanities through researching, documenting and preserving Australian history, and the roles of women in society’ was last week recognised by the award of an Order of Australia. An inspiring and influential member of Australia’s historical community for many years, Pat has been significant in advancing women’s history, histories of colonial encounters and transnational history in this country, as well as playing an important role in supporting younger historians. The AO is greatly deserved.
