CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO THE ICHS BUREAU FOR 2010–2015

The second General Assembly of ICHS, to be held during the Amsterdam Congress of 2010, will have to elect the next Bureau of ICHS for the 2010–2015 quinquennium. Article 5 of the ICHS constitution sets the rules of this election and stipulates that 'Members of the Board may be re-elected but the President and three other members of the Board must be replaced at each general election. Persons who have reached the age of seventy are not eligible or re-eligible.'

The Nominating Committee, elected by the General Assembly in Beijing (2007), will meet on 15 September 2009, in order to prepare the list of candidates for the elections of the ICHS Bureau for 2010–2015, to be held during the General Assembly in 2010.

On its behalf, the Secretariat is issuing this call for nominations to all National Committees, Affiliated International Organizations and Internal Commissions. In the framework of Article 5, the Nominating Committee is looking for active scholars, known for the quality of their work, sharing the overall concerns and goals of the ICHS, with an inclination towards networking and organizing. The Nominating Committee must present a balanced slate of candidates in terms of countries and continents, broad areas of specializations and gender.

Please send your proposals, accompanied by a short CV to the Executive Officer of the AHA, no later than July 31st, 2009.
