The conference, 'Vincent Buckley 20 Years After: Life, Work, Politics and Times' will be held at Newman College, University of Melbourne, on February 10 and 11. The registration form and other information is available on the ASAL website . Please note that the deadline for early bird registration has been extended to January 23. CALL FOR PAPERS: AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE BIENNIAL CONFERENCE 2009 vHEALTH AND MEDICINE AT THE FRONTIER Location: Perth, Western Australia Date: 28 Sept. - 2 Oct. 2009 Deadline for abstracts: 30 April 2009 Papers on any topic in the history of health and medicine are welcome. Conference themes are: Aboriginal Health; Health, Medicine & Maritime Exploration; Health & Medicine on the Frontier; Medicine's Frontiers; Industrial Medicine/ Occupational Health & Safety; Infectious Diseases; Infant & Child Health; Healthcare occupations [e.g. pharmacy, nursing, dentistry]; Medicine and Religious Orders; Medicine in Numismatics; One thousand words on an image/ artefact/ place ["Show & Tell"] Standard papers will be of 20 minutes' duration, with 10 minutes' discussion. The International Congress of Historical Sciences takes place every five years. This congress provides an ideal venue for extensive reports, papers, debates, exchanges, and meetings reflecting historical research in action. It is the meeting place for the global community of historians. Call for papers / congress registration You can send in a paper proposal by filling in the registration form on our website http://www.ichs2010.org/register.asp Deadline for paper proposals for the main program is February 1, 2009. All participants need to register through this online form, final registration and payment can be made at a later date. The congress fee:
