The Jews of Spain – Past, Present and Future

18 November 2015 @ 1.00 pm - 2.30 pm

Moises Hassan-Amselem, Honorary lecturer at the University ‘Pablo de Olavide’, Sevilla, Spain.

For over 1000 years, Sepharad was the home to a large Jewish community noted for its richness and virtuosity. That all ended in the 15th century with the creation of the Spanish Inquisition and the final expulsion in 1492. Today, the Jewish Community there is still small in size but growing in stature. Will the growing tide of antisemitism in Europe turn back the clock on Jewish progress in Spain?
