Joanne Scott

Associate Professor Joanne Scott is head of the School of Social Sciences at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Her major research interests include Australian social history, oral history, and histories of work and leisure. Her most recent book, co-authored with Dr Ross Laurie, is Showtime: A History of the Brisbane Exhibition (University of Queensland Press, 2008). She worked with Ross and the Museum of Brisbane to develop the social history exhibition, Ten Days in August: Memories of the Ekka (July-November 2008). Joanne is a member of the Queensland Working Party of the Australian Dictionary of Biography. She is convenor for the AHA's 2009 conference, to be held at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
