Jean Chetkovich

Dr Jean Chetkovich is the Director of the Centre for Western Australian History at The University of Western Australia. The Centre was established in 1985 with an expressed aim to encourage the research and writing of Western Australian History at the highest professional standards. Her role as Director requires an interesting mix of academic and management skills. Her personal research interests are Irish migration, Western Australian history generally, heritage tourism and cemeteries. She has had several articles published on Irish migration to Western Australia and a book (with Deborah Gare) A Chain of Care: A History of the Silver Chain Nursing Association 1905-2005. Jean chairs the Editorial Board of Studies in Western Australian History.
