‘Australians and the First World War: Local-Global Connections and Contexts’

Congratulations to James Bennett and Kate Ariotti for the publication of this edited collection, which was launched at the Newcastle conference by Professor Stuart Macintyre. This book contributes to the global turn in First World War studies by exploring Australians’ engagements with the conflict across varied boundaries and by situating Australian voices and perspectives within broader, more complex contexts.

Contributors to the book, many of whom are AHA members, are Karen Agutter, Meleah Hampton, Kate Ariotti, Victoria Haskins, Melanie Oppenheimer, Frank Bongiorno, Stephanie James, Samuel Furphy, Bart Ziino, Jenny Macleod, Christina Spittel and James Bennett.
