The ASSH Book Awards for monographs and edited works recognise outstanding scholarship in sports history. Books for both Awards must have been published in the previous two calendar years prior to the year of the award. Works must be sent to the judges by the due date to be eligible. Articles submitted for the ASSH Student Article Award should deal with the historical, economic, political, social, legal or philosophical significance of sporting activity with preference given to those with an Australian / New Zealand focus. The award is open to students enrolled in an Australian or New Zealand tertiary institution at the time that the article was published.
