AHA Kay Daniels Award
This International Award jointly sponsored by the AHA, the University of Tasmania and Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority is made for an outstanding work in convict history or other areas to which Kay Daniels made a distinguished contribution.
This will be a biennial award and is worth $1,500. It has been made possible by donations from colleagues and friends, and substantial subventions from the University of Tasmania, where Kay Daniels was a member of the History Department for some 20 years.
In her Presidential address at the AHA Biennial Conference in Brisbane, 3-7 July, Jill Roe especially acknowledged the generosity of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania, Professor Don McNicol, and the strong support of the Department of History and Classics and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tasmania.
The second Award will be made at the biennial
conference to be held at the Australian National University in 2006.
Applications close on 15 March, 2006. Forms may be obtained from the AHA Secretariat or may be downloaded below.
